Terms of use and subscription terms
Last updated 6 October 2026
These terms are in two parts. Part A covers your use of this website. Part B is a plain-English summary of the standard terms on which we supply the BigSteve platform to venues. The full customer agreement, including service levels and the data processing agreement, is provided and signed before any venue goes live. Where this summary and a signed agreement differ, the signed agreement applies.
Part A: Website terms of use
Who we are
This website and the BigSteve platform are operated by Big Steve Ltd ("BigSteve", "we"), a company registered in the United Kingdom. You can contact us at hello@bigsteve.co.uk.
Using this site
- The content on this site is for general information about BigSteve. It is not an offer capable of acceptance; a contract for the platform is formed only when a customer agreement is signed.
- Prices on this site are indicative, exclude VAT, and may change. The price that applies to you is the one in your signed agreement.
- You may not copy, scrape or reproduce the content of this site for commercial purposes without our written permission.
- We aim to keep the site accurate and available but do not guarantee that it will be error-free or uninterrupted.
Liability for this site
To the extent permitted by law, BigSteve is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the information on this website. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These website terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction.
Part B: Summary of standard subscription terms
What you get
- Access to the BigSteve platform on the plan you choose (Essentials, Professional or Group), for the venues named in your agreement.
- Setup: configuration, import of your existing bookings, customers and vouchers, and staff training, as described in your agreement.
- Support: email and phone support seven days a week, with a 30-minute response at any time for problems that stop you taking bookings or payments.
- Ongoing updates and new features released to all customers.
Fees and billing
- The monthly plan fee is charged per venue, in advance, by card or direct debit.
- The online booking fee (currently 25p per completed online booking) and SMS charges are billed monthly in arrears.
- The one-off setup fee is invoiced on signing, unless waived under a founding customer offer.
- Annual prepayment earns two months free in each prepaid year.
- All fees exclude VAT, which is added where applicable.
- Card processing fees are charged by your payment provider under your own merchant agreement, not by BigSteve.
Term and cancellation
- The initial term is three months from your go-live date (twelve months for founding customers).
- After the initial term the agreement continues month to month. Either side can end it by giving 30 days' written notice.
- Annual prepaid agreements run for the prepaid year and then continue month to month unless renewed.
- We may suspend or end the service for non-payment after written warning, or immediately for unlawful use.
Refunds
- Monthly fees paid in advance are not refunded for the remainder of a month in which you cancel, except as set out below.
- If we fail to provide the service in a way that materially breaches our agreement and do not fix it within a reasonable time, you may end the agreement and we will refund any fees paid for the period after termination, including the unused part of any annual prepayment.
- The setup fee is not refundable once setup work has begun, except where we have failed to deliver it.
- Refunds owed to your customers for their bookings are made by you through the platform, from your own merchant account. BigSteve does not hold customer money.
- Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Your data
- You own your bookings, customer records, vouchers and settings. We process them only to provide the service, under a data processing agreement.
- You can export your data at any time on request, and on termination. We delete your data within 90 days of the end of the agreement unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
- We keep your data separate from every other customer's data and never share it with other venues.
Our responsibilities and limits
- We provide the platform with reasonable skill and care and keep it available except for planned maintenance, which we notify in advance and schedule outside trading hours.
- Changes to shared settings or emails are notified at least two weeks before they take effect.
- Our total liability under the agreement in any 12-month period is capped at the fees you paid in that period, except for liability that cannot be limited by law.
- We are not liable for loss caused by your payment provider, your internet connection, or your own configuration of the platform.
Governing law
Customer agreements are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction.
